Lexus of Melbourne - 5 Things You Should Know About the Lexus IS 350

There's no denying that Lexus makes beautiful cars. As new models become available and updates are made to current models, the sleek style and sophistication you've come to know is no surprise; it's expected. With the latest update to the Lexus IS 350 model, there's so much more to discover.

Lexus IS 350 Has More Power

When the IS 350 was updated in 2014, a few changes were made under the hood. It may seem like a typical four-door luxury sedan, but it's got plenty of power. With a 306-horsepower V-6, the IS 350 can hit 60 miles per hour in just 5.8 seconds. Lexus engines are known for being whisper-quiet, but it's not enough to feel the power. You need to hear it, too. A sound-generating system was added to make this baby growl and purr.

Lexus IS 350 Has More Room

In that same 2014 update, the IS 350 became a little bit bigger. This gives you and your passengers more interior space to spread out and cargo space to store the things you need for any trip. Adults have more leg room in the back as well, making it a more comfortable ride all around.

More Features Come Standard on the Lexus IS 350

As always, you have plenty of options to choose from, regardless of which Lexus you drive, but certain luxuries come standard with the IS 350. You'll get 17-inch wheels, xenon headlights, keyless ignition, 60/40 folding rear seats, and a moon roof. On top of that, other features include automatic dual zone climate control, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, USB integration, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and eight-way power front seats with power lumbar support for the driver.

Lexus IS 350 is Safer

The Lexus IS 350 is safer than other luxury vehicles, thanks to both standard and optional features. The Lexus Enform Safety Connect offers help in the event of an accident, collision, or even theft of your vehicle. Other safety features have been built right in, like the LED headlamps and rigid body structure of the Lexus IS 350, with crumple-free zones designed to compress at a controlled rate in a collision. Optional features include back-up camera, blind spot monitor, and intuitive parking assistance.

Lexus IS 350 Offers More Comfort

Your comfort is key with the Lexus IS 350. Between standard and optional features, you may be more comfortable driving than sitting in your favorite chair in front of the TV. The optional Lexus Memory System can store the personal settings for multiple drivers including seat and mirror positions. The front seats keep you comfortable in all kinds of weather, thanks to heat and ventilation, standard on the IS 350 F Sport package. Your hands will stay warm in winter with the optional heated steering wheel, too.

The Lexus IS 350 is much more than a pretty face. With the luxury Lexus is known for, it's an amazing machine that provides comfort and keeps you safe when you're on the road.

The New Lexus LF-LC Hybrid Concept Car

When the Lexus Hybrid 2+2 Sport Coupe concept car was unveiled at the North American Auto Show in Detroit way back in 2012, it seemed unlikely that it would ever see production. It was a futuristic concept that was almost too good to be true. And even if it did ever make it into production, there’s no way it would retain those amazing curves and racecar-like air intakes. However, the response to the stunning concept car was so overwhelming that Lexus went forward with production plans.

Now, four years later and getting close to being released, everyone here at Lexus of Melbourne is on the edge of our seats. We’ve seen the photos and the specs – and we’re blown away. The new Lexus LF-LC Hybrid is as close to the concept car in appearance as any of us could have hoped for. Its sweeping lines and dramatic vents are as beautiful as we remembered. The wide-flaring rear fenders are just as stunning as the concept car’s. And what’s more, the hybrid power-plant is simply astonishing in its output and performance specs.

The LF-LC Hybrid Details

As a 2+2 sport coupe, the Lexus LF-LC will compete with some of the most prestigious and potent sports coupes in the world. The European car makers have dominated that segment for years, and it’s about time the engineers at Lexus showed them how it’s really done. From the beginning this premium sport coupe was intended to combine the best performance features with the Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive system. Although the exact horsepower numbers haven’t been confirmed, rumors are that it could be in the 500-hp range.

Inside the cabin space the sweeping lines continue, with a wrap-around feel for both driver and front seat passenger. Two 12-inch LCD screens are intuitively placed, and control all features such as audio, navigation, climate control, etc. There is even a popup keyboard for interacting with the systems. The leather and suede surfaces are accented with brushed metal and wood trim inlays, and the glass roof stretches from edge to edge.

The rear-wheel drive and front engine design are intended for maximum performance, and believe it or not – fuel efficiency. Again, no exact numbers are available, but expect better performance than any regularly powered sport coupe out there.

When is it Coming?

If the next question on your mind is “when can I get mine?” – then we have good news for you. The new Lexus LF-LC will likely be released in late 2016 for the 2017 model year. It will probably be designated as the Lexus RC F Hybrid, and will likely sell for around the $100,000-$200,000 mark. However, it will also be one of the most potent and exhilarating driving experiences available in any vehicle.

If you happen to be one of those passionate drivers who desire only the best in your luxury performance car experience, this new Lexus Hybrid Sport Coupe is for you. Let us know if you want more information, or would like us to reserve one of these beauties in your name. We’ll make sure you’re among the first to see and drive this incredible new innovation in hyper-performance luxury sports cars. And if you’re like us here at Lexus of Melbourne, you’ll be counting down the days until it’s here.
